GETTING THE MOST FROM YOUR FERTILIZER DOLLAR
With fertilizer prices skyrocketing and
shortages being reported, turfgrass producers are interested in getting
the most bang for the buck when it comes to fertility. Dr. Sam Feagley,
Professor and State Soil Environmental Specialist, from Texas A&M
University, will speak on the subject at the TPT Conference in Bay City.
Dr. Feagley received his BS degree in
chemistry and his MS in soil fertility from Texas A&M University and his
PhD in soil chemistry from the University of Missouri. He held a
teaching/research position at Louisiana State University from 1979 to
1995 where he worked with surface mine reclamation, remediation of
saline/sodic soils, and treatment of sewage effluents.
He returned to Texas A&M University in
1995 in an Extension/teaching position. His Extension programming and
research concentrates on nutrient management related to land application
of animal wastes, composts and biosolids, reclamation of saline and/or
sodic soils, and reclamation of drastically altered lands.
Dr. Feagley will discuss how to get the
maximum efficiency out of nutrients including timing and rates.
