Founder’s Award To Be Awarded at Annual Conference
Given annually, this award is presented in grateful appreciation to individuals who have had a positive impact on our industry. Our hope is that as we honor them for the example they set for us that we will strive to also become leaders to those who will follow after us.
Past recipients have been Dr. Richard Duble in 2003 and Dr. Wendell Horne in 2004. In 2005, we honored the original board of directors of TPT for their dedication and foresight. They were: Irving Boerger, Morris Brown, R. M. Cole, Charles Davis, Jr., J. R. May, F. J. Milberger, J. R. Miller, Theodore Mund and Leonard Wittig.
This year’s award will be presented by TPT President Billy Mayfield during the afternoon session. The honoree for 2006 will be Wallace Menn. During his 35 years at Texas A&M University, he has done much in the area of weed control research to benefit turfgrass producers.
