Extreme Turf in East Bernard  

For a few weeks in February, things were extremely busy in East Bernard when Extreme Home Makeover and Royce Homebuilders knocked on the door of the John Kubena family home and surprised them with the news that they were the recipients of a new home.  Not only had this family been overwhelmed with the very rare occurrence of their identical twin daughters getting the same disease (leukemia) at the same time, they have had to deal with the ups and downs of remission, relapses, fragile immune systems, bone marrow transplants and mounting medical bills.  But then kind hearts and good neighbors became involved and they now have a new house and are receiving numerous donations to help them make it through this ordeal.

One of the many behind the scenes stories comes from one of our own, Aland Wittig of Wittig Grass Sales who donated the turf for the new lawn.  While we didn’t see this part of the story on national television and no credit given, Aland and his crew were happy to be a part of the experience and know that it was for a good cause.
